Suffolk eXplore card axed, Bus Stop Bandits, Go Ahead results and Historic Southgates...

Above: Earlier this week I was sent in a scan of this postcard dating from the 1950/1960's showing a fantastic aerial view of the Southgates area of King's Lynn including the Eastern Counties bus garage.

Suffolk eXplore card axed
As part of Suffolk County Council's budget cuts which were approved at a meeting yesterday the Suffolk eXplore card which gives under 20's 50% off bus fares and off peak train fares will be axed. Holders of the cards will only be able to use their cards to get discounted travel until 31st March 2011. After this date cards will no longer be valid for discounted travel. Existing cardholders will still be able to use the card as proof of ID until its expiry date. These cuts will save the council around £1.7m per year.
