Cromer Bus Station set to reopen this summer!

Norfolk County Council have announced that the long anticipated re-opening of Cromer Bus Station in Cadogan Road will take place this summer, the bus station closed over five years ago when its owner decided to put in planning applications to redevelop the site into housing, however these applications failed and it has laid deralict and has become an eyesore

Now Norfolk County Council have secured the site by taking out a 99 year lease for £250,000 securing the site for many years to come.

The site will under go a two phase refurbishment programme, phase 1 which will start this month includes two new bus stops with shelters and seating an electronic touch screen information kiosk and new lighting.

It is hoped the bus station will be ready for Norfolk Green and Sanders buses to use it by June.

Phase 2 of the works which will include knocking down the old tourist information centre and the creation of extra bus stops will take place at a later date.
