Emergency Railway Replacement between King's Lynn & Downham Market 26/09/11

There was a crash involving a train and tractor on a level crossing just outside King's Lynn yesterday morning, fortunatly none of the 40 passengers on board the 1010 King's Lynn to London King's Cross suffered any injuries and the tractor driver only suffered minor injuries, however the incident brought down overhead power lines meaning replacement bus services between King's Lynn & Ely yesterday and between King's Lynn & Downham Market today had to run whilst repair work was carried out by Network Rail - services returned to their normal schedules late this afternoon.

I caught up with some of the railway replacement buses and coaches at King's Lynn this morning...

The highlight for me was Ensignbus Volvo Olympian WLT916 which was being used on direct services between King's Lynn & Downham Market

Greys Of Ely had at least two buses on the service including Plaxton Verde WSU485 and an inidentified Optare Sigma.

KLN RRS 3
Panther Travel, Essex had Plaxton Interurban N320NHY in use.
