Emergency RRS King's Lynn to Ely (again!) 24/10/11

Yesterday (Monday 24/10/11) passengers on the First Capital Connect Fen Line service from King's Lynn once again suffered a day of disruption and railway replacement services due to problems with overhead powerlines in the Downham Market area.

One of the passengers inconvenienced by the delays was our regular correspondant David Bell, he takes up the story...

"I had planned to go to Bury St Edmunds today to have a look at the new Stephensons services but my plans were thwarted by more rail disruption - this time it was problems with the overhead wires at Downham Market and all passengers were being bussed to Ely or intermediate stations.

I abandoned my plans for Bury and took a few photos of the rail replacement buses including an operator new to me - Discovery Coaches (Moffat and Pugh) of Stretham in Cambridgeshire."
