Euro Bus Expo 2012 - special report (part two)

Our regular Northern-based correspondant Gregg Collins visited the UK's largest bus and coach trade show - Euro Bus Expo at the Birmingham NEC last week.

Using a wonderful variety of photographs taken by Gregg we take a look at some of the newest buses and coaches on the market - including some being revealed for the first time!

We start our second Euro Bus Expo post with the Alexander Dennis stand where a new generation Enviro500 for Hong Kong operator KMB was on display, a set of recently announced orders will see 532 of these vehicles enter service with some of Hong Kong's leading bus operators during the next 18 months.

This overview of the Alexander Dennis stand shows the new hybrid Enviro350H on the left, an Enviro400 for Newport Bus in the centre and the Enviro500 for KMB on the right, an excellent overview of some of ADL's supurb range of vehicles.

A new coach chassis, the Volvo B11R also featured at the show, this view shows one with a smart facelifted Sunsundegui body, the other was carrying a Jonckheere body, the new B11R is available in both two and three axle versions and are available with a range of powerful high fuel efficiency engines.

There was also of course a New Bus For London on display, in the shape of LT3, with an order for over 600 placed for delivery by 2014 they are set to become a familier sight on the streets of London.

VDL had a trio of their latest Futura coaches on display, this one wears the smart livery of Johnsons Quality Coach Travel, others present were for operators Birmingham International and Whytes.

and finally, the star of the show had to be the new Plaxton Elite i, one of 11 of these 15m interdeck coaches destined for Stagecoach's Megabus network, if you missed our previous post about the new Elite i click here to read all about it!.

Thats it for our two part Euro Bus Expo special report, if you missed the first part click here to see it.
