konectbus "konectexpress8" shortlisted for UK Bus Awards 2012

konectbus will be heading to the UK Bus Awards in London next Tuesday (20th November) where they have been shortlisted for the 'Putting Passengers First Award' due to their commitment to passengers on the re-launch of their popular konectexpress 8 route between Dereham and Norwich.

The konectexpress8 service (originally named "str8") started in September 2009 with a two hourly frequency using a pair of leather seated Optare Tempo single deckers, the service soon became popular being increased to an hourly then half hourly frequency, the service was re-launched in January 2012 with five brand new leather seated Alexander Dennis Enviro400 double deckers and the new konectexpress brand.

Due to the feedback we received from existing passengers and residents in Dereham and Toftwood we decided to offer an even more direct and faster alternative to First’s X1 and our previous service 4, the konectexpress 8. Our focus being to achieving modal shift away from the private car, with a cheaper, more relaxing and comfortable journey - without the hassle or expense of parking in Norwich City.

The journey time is now just 35 minutes, with services up to every half an hour, provided by a fleet of leather-seated double deckers less than a year old. A regular team of konectexpress 8 drivers are also on a permanent rotating rota, allowing them to build up a rapport with their regular customers, improving the level of customer service.
