2012: The Review - Part 2 (April to June)

As 2012 draws to an end we are continuing our four part special looking back over the last twelve months of what was reported here on Andy's Bus Blog, this is the second part and looks at April, May & June.


Anglianbus announced they were to introduce smartcard ticketing, Delaine Buses put AD12DBL - their second Wrightbus Eclipse Gemini 2 into service and there were major roadworks on London Road in King's Lynn which saw buses on diversion

We had a mini day out around Norfolk with a konectbus anywhere ticket, Norfolk Green's Coasthopper branded Irisbus Agoraline 131 entered service, Coach Services put CS12BUS - a brand new Wrightbus Eclipse Urban 2 into service and the North Norfolk Railway Vintage Bus Weekend took place - we covered the event with a two part photo special...part 1 & part 2

Elsewhere news broke that Go Ahead had acquired Anglianbus, David Bell reported from the UK Coach Rally in Peterborough and Stagecoach announced major changes to their network in Cambridgeshire.


We revealed that First's heritage Routemaster buses would be making a comeback for the summer in Great Yarmouth, there was a Uno photo special and David Bell sent a report from the Llandudno festival of transport

There was a trio of ECOC Bristol Lodekkas photo special, new bus services for Cambridgeshire villages hit by cuts were announced, Konectbus announced that another five Alexander Dennis Enviro400's and there were interesting photographs including Harry Potter tour buses when David Bell visited Watford

It was an exciting month as the build up to the arrival of Norfolk Green's first two brand new Alexander Dennis Enviro400's started, at the beginning of the month they had E400 demonstrator SN61DFK on loan, First's Routemasters re-entered service in Great Yarmouth, Go Ahead acquired their fourth East Anglian operator - Chambers, there were coaches galore when we spent an afternoon in Hunstanton and Stagecoach launched their Duxford Shuttle service in Cambridge

The Glade Festival near King's Lynn had an RMA worked shuttle bus service, Stagecoach recieved their eight extra new buses for The Busway and it was the ECW event at the East Anglia Transport Museum and we published a photo extravaganza


Norfolk Green's Optare Solo 619 was repainted into the new livery - they also launched their new mobile friendly website and the month finished with the sighting of their new Enviro400's on delivery - look out for more on the arrival and entry into service of these fantasic vehicles in the next part of our 2012 review!
