Showbus set to move to Long Marston Airfield near Stratford-upon-Avon in 2013!

Bus industry magazine Route One have revealed that Showbus, the UK's biggest bus rally will move away from its traditional home at Duxford Imperial War Museum in Cambridge next year.

Instead the event, which will take take place on Sunday 22nd September 2013 will be held at Long Marston Airfield near Stratford-upon-Avon.

The organisers say that the event will return to Duxford in 2014 for the 60th anniversary of the Routemaster but this may only be a temporary move back.

They admit that while Long Marston does not have the attendant attractions of Duxford, Europe's premier air museum, it does enable them to offer attractions the musuem does not permit, they are also hopeful that the new central location will make it easier for people who have previously found it difficult to get to Duxford to come and enjoy the event.

Admission prices will be less than Duxford, at no more than £12 per person, and there will also be a wider range of stalls and refreshments than permitted at Duxford, there will also be shuttle buses to Stratford and Honeybourne stations to connect with trains, plus bookable Cotswolds tours and shuttles to nearby attractions.

An official news release about the new location is expected on the Showbus website tomorrow.
