2012: The Review - Part 4 (October to December)

Its time for the final installment of our four part special looking back over the last twelve months of what was reported here on Andy's Bus Blog - this part covers October, November & December!


Konectbus' latest batch of Enviro400's were seen on delivery, the company also scored 97% in a customer satisfaction survey, it was farewell to Norfolk Green Solos 612 & 616 as they were sold to a new owner, we looked at Optare Tempo YJ59NNZ before it was with Norfolk Green and the branding on Konectbus' Enviro400's for the 3 & 6 was unveiled.

There were coaches galore in Norwich, Brighton & Hove's Roger French announced his retirement, Stephensons Of Essex launched their Suffolk Express service between Bury St Edmunds to Ipswich, we published a two part Brighton Special featuring Compass Bus & The Big Lemon and Brighton & Hoves new Hybrid Geminis.

The end of the month saw Suffolk County Council announce new Sunday buses for Bury St Edmunds, eight secondhand Enviro200's began arriving at First in Lowestoft and we looked at Konectbus' new Enviro400's working in Norwich.


At the beginning of the month David Bell caught up with the latest bus scene in Ipswich, Konectbus announced and then later in the month began operating theirnew Konectexpress 2 between Norwich and Sheringham, Go Whippet had a Enviro300 on demonstration, it was the Lincoln Vintage Vehicle Society running day and Euro Bus Expo took place, we covered the event with a series of photographs supplied by Gregg Collins - part 1 and part 2.

David Bell went out & about in Colchester and Bedford, the UK Bus Awards were held in London, Norfolk Green's Hardwick Six started serving the new Sainsburys at Hardwick in King's Lynn and there was a photo special from Bury St Edmunds Christmas Market.

Meanwhile there was an interesting Konectbus fleet update and at the end of the month the brand new MAN EcoCity gas buses started arriving at Anglianbus!


At the beginning of the month the first six of Anglianbus' brand new MAN EcoCity gas buses entered service on their new 146 service between Norwich & Lowestoft and David Bell caught all six on camera on their first day in service

News broke that Showbus is to move to Stratford-upon-Avon in 2013, it was the Ensignbus vintage bus running day, the extension to Babraham Park & Ride in Cambridge was completed and there was an interesting Norfolk Green fleet update with news that two East Lancs/Tridents are expected from Cumbria County Council.

The last half of the month saw us take a trip down memory lane with special posts looking back at Hunstanton's 1986 open top bus service, King's Lynn bus station in the 1980's, the old Hunstanton, King's Lynn and Peterborough Rail/Coach Link and a very nostalgic look back at King's Lynn buses in the 1950's.
