A Vintage Visitor in King's Lynn

A beautifully restored vintage bus visited King's Lynn and West Norfolk yesterday (Tuesday 9th July) returning to the area it operated in when new.

The 1950 Duple Vista bodied Bedford OB which carries registration KPW 986 was new to the long established Eagles Coaches of Castle Acre, a company which still operates to this day.

To celebrate its visit to West Norfolk the bus operated in service as a relief on Peelings Coaches Tuesday shopper service 1 into King's Lynn from Fakenham via Castle Acre.

The bus is now owned by Somerset based coach operator Lewis Coaches who restored the bus and use it on private hires as well as taking it to various bus gatherings and events.

To finish this post we travel back to 1976 to see the bus when in a withdrawn condition with Eagles Coaches.
