Out & about on The Busway - St Ives, Swavesey and Longstanton

With just over a week to go until the second anniversary of the opening of The Busway in Cambridgeshire we are celebrating with a selection of scenic photographs taken by our friend and regular correspondant Damon Powell who visited the longest guided busway in the world earlier this month...

All photographs in this post are © Damon Powell - you can find more of Damon's excellent photographs on his Flickr photostream

Seen approaching Swavesey is Wrightbus Eclipse Urban 2 bodied Volvo B7RLE AE09 GYV, working the 1542 A from Trumpington to St Ives Marley Road.

Next up is Alexander Dennis Enviro400 bodied Scania N230UD AE09GYP working the 1600 B from Cambridge to Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

Here we see Wrightbus Eclipse Urban bodied Volvo B7RLE AE09 GYU near Swavesey working the 1527 A from Trumpington to RAF Wyton.

Our next photo illustrates the BioBus livery worn by some of The Busway fleet, Alexander Dennis Enviro400 bodied Scania N230UD AE10 HFC is seen approaching Longstanton Park and Ride working the 1515 B from Cambridge to Huntingdon Rail Station.

As well as Stagecoach's very frequent services on The Busway, long established local independant Go Whippet also run an hourly service using three Plaxton Centro bodied Volvo B7RLE's like AE59 EHO seen here at Longstanton on the 1535 C from St Ives Hill Rise to Cambridge.

In addition the three Plaxton Centro's Go Whippet also operate one Wrightbus Eclipse Urban 2 bodied Volvo B7RLE on The Busway, BG59 FYB - a former demonstrator is seen here at St Ives Park & Ride working on the 1135 from St. Ives Hill Rise to Cambridge Rail Station.

Thats it for this photo special, look out for more - coming soon!
