New Anglianbus network from 2nd September 2013

Anglianbus have today announced details of their new bus network which is due to begin on 2nd September 2013...

There will be new service numbers and new routes, as well as additional journeys and a new more direct Great Yarmouth to Norwich express service. Journey times have also been revised to improve punctuality and reliability.

Just some of the highlights of the changes include;
  • A new more direct half hourly Norwich to Great Yarmouth service branded anglianexpress 7.
  • An hourly through service from Norwich to Southwold via Halesworth on the 88/88A.
  • A new revised easy to use half hourly timetable between Norwich and Bungay on the 88 for most of the day.
  • A bus every 20 minutes between Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft and Kessingland with hourly extensions to/from Southwold on the 61.
  • A bus up to every 20 minutes between Beccles, Lowestoft and Pleasurewood Hills via Whitton Estate on the 60 (Note: Norwich-Beccles section of old service 146 is withdrawn)
  • Up to six buses an hour between Lowestoft rail station and Pleasurewood Hills on service 60/61
  • A new hourly link between Acle, Norwich and Cringleford on the 52 operated by Konectbus.
  • A new half hourly link between Wroxham, Dussindale, Norwich and Tuckswood on the 53.
  • Most county services to/from Norwich will now use Norwich bus station.

New timetables will be available online soon, the new network will also be contained in 6 handy timetable leaflets and a booklet for all services in the Norwich area which will be available from 19th August on buses, from Norwich Bus Station and from the Anglianbus office.

A brand new Anglianbus website will be launched from 26th August too.
