West Of England Transport Collection open day 2013 - part 1

One of our regular contributors Philip Slynn visited the West Of England Transport Collection (WETC) annual open day in Winkleigh, Devon on Sunday 6th October 2013, in this two part report we will be taking a look at some of the buses that are included in this fascinating collection...

Philip reports: "Having never been before, myself and my wife had a long weekend and decided to visit. As well as the vehicles listed on the website, there are numerous 'hulks' scattered around plus many vehicles in a 'semi-preserved' state."

In this part we will be looking at vehicles from the City Of Exeter and Devon General fleets.

Stagecoach South West WA13 GCV - the only modern vehicle at the open day was this Alexander Dennis Enviro400 bodied Scania N230UD branded for the The North Devon Wave © Philip Slynn.

Now for a couple of the unrestored, derelict vehicles present on site, sadly both have seen better days and if it were possible to restore them it would be no mean feat!
