NatWest Business Bus visits King's Lynn

An interesting vehicle, NatWest's AEC Routemaster 'business bus' visited King's Lynn on Friday.

Our regular correspondent David Bell arrived early in King's Lynn on Friday hoping to photograph the vehicle arriving, unfortunately it arrived earlier than expected following it's previous days visit in Great Yarmouth (see East Norfolk Bus Blog)

However not to be deterred David managed to capture a selection of photographs showing the vehicle parked up in the Vancouver Quarter where it was promoting the bank's business services between 9am and 5pm.

This unusual Routemaster was new to London Transport as RML 2464 JJD464D in 1966 seeing service from Finchley, West Ham, Hornchurch and Stockwell garages during it's life in London, after retirement from 'normal service' and being sold the bus was converted to open top complete with awning for marketing purposes, it has since been used by the Royal Bank of Scotland and subsequently NatWest.
