Looking back... Colchester in 1994 - part 3

Today we conclude our latest Looking back... feature with a final trip back 20 years to take a look at the colourful local bus scene that could be found in Colchester in 1994, across the three parts of this post, using photographs from David Bell's wonderful archives we have seen operators including Beestons, Chambers, Colchester Borough Transport, Eastern Counties, Eastern National, Hedingham Omnibuses & more.

Our first photograph in this part shows B689 BPU, one of ECW's excellent coach bodied Leyland Olympian, new in 1985 the vehicle is seen here working for Eastern National © David Bell.

Next up we have Colchester Borough Transport Leyland Atlantean open topper JHK 495N, new in 1975 this bus is seen operating on a sightseeing tour in Britain's oldest recorded town © David Bell.

Here we have another smart example of the Chambers fleet - Alexander bodied Leyland Olympian G864 XDX, new in 1989 this bus continued to work into 2013 with the bus and coach operator Johnson Bros © David Bell.

The penultimate photograph in this feature shows Hedingham Alexander Dash bodied Dennis Dart K198 EVW, it was new in 1992 © David Bell.
