Council plans to redevelop King's Lynn bus station have moved a step forward as a progress report on work to the 'transport interchange' project says £1 million of section 106 funding from the Tesco and Sainsbury's developments at Hardwick needs to be spent before 2017/18.
It is hoped that the planned improvements, which are part of a four point plan will be completed in 2015, the plans include;
• Enhanced pedestrian link between the bus station and railway station (phase 1)
• Refurbishment of the bus station including layout changes and new canopies (phase 2)
• Refurbishing the bus station information office and toilets as well as improving signage (phase 3/4)
A public consultation on the plans are proposed for June and once the final designs are agreed it is anticipated that work will begin in October.
