RT 75th Anniversary photo special - part 1

David Bell visited London on 12th April to attend the RT 75th Anniversary running day, included in this post are an excellent selection of photographs taken at the event.

David reports "As part of the RT 75th anniversary celebrations a selection of RTs including RT1 ran over the former 22 route from Piccadilly to Homerton. Attached is a selection of photographs mostly taken in the St Pauls area or at Ash Grove garage which was open to the public."

2. RTL453 - KLB 648... This Park Royal bodied RTL was new to London Transport's Plumstead garage in December 1949, it entered preservation in 1970 © David Bell.

3. RT1784 - KYY 622... This Park Royal RT was new London Transport's Leyton garage in June 1950, it was withdrawn in 1963 and passed to J Lloyd & Sons, Nuneaton where it operated until preservation in 1973 © David Bell.

4. RT3183 - KYY 912... This Weymann bodied RT was new in 1950, as you can see it is preserved in the attractive green London Country livery © David Bell.

5. D67 - BDJ 67... A Non-London RT We finish with this Park Royal bodied example was new to St Helens Corporation in 1950, it later operated with Hull Corporation © David Bell.
