Looking back... Duncans of Sawtry - part 1

This weekend Philip Slynn continues his series of guest posts looking back at small local in independents, in this two part feature he focuses on Duncans of Sawtry...

Philip comments: "During the 1970s and 1980s Duncan of Sawtry bought quite a few new Fords with the standard Plaxton body of the time. However, they did have other vehicle as illustrated."

YEW 380T - In a break with tradition, in 1979 a new AEC Reliance was purchased with a Plaxton Supreme IV body. This was taken when quite new and must have been one of the last AECs to be built, it later worked for Hircocks (Upwell & District) where it was registered YSU 917 © Philip Slynn.

HEW 3D - The Bedford VAS with Duple Vista body was new to Edwards of Huntingdon in 1966. It was in service with Duncans in 1974 when photographed in Peterborough © Philip Slynn.
