Looking back... Eastern Counties seventies selection - part 2

Today our regular guest blogger Philip Slynn continues his three part feature Looking back... at a selection of Eastern Counties photographs he took in the seventies, included are an interesting selection shots taken in and around the Peterborough, Norwich and Cambridge areas...

MD997 (Ford  438)
An early example of a midibus is this Ford AO609 NAH 142P new in 1976. It is seen in that year operating an Oundle town service (c) Philip Slynn.

SB662 (Bedford  106)
In the late 1960s a few Bedfords were purchased new, and this one NAH 662F is a Bedford VAM5 new in 1967 and pictured here in Norwich in 1973, and has an ECW bus body (c) Philip Slynn.

CB841 (Bedford   35)
The following year Duple bodied VAM70s were purchased and this one PPW 841F is in Peterborough in 1972 on the Leicester express service (c) Philip Slynn.

CB994 (Bedford   543)
Part of the Mascot business was acquired in 1974 and with it came a couple of Bedford YRQs. This one VVG 539K was given number CB994 and is pictured in Peterborough in 1974 on the Hereford service in NE livery (c) Philip Slynn.

LN552 (LeyNat   34)
An example of one of the early Leyland Nationals into the fleet is LN552 OAH 552M on the 151 service to Cambridge (c) Philip Slynn.

LL842 (Leyland 1080)
Another second hand vehicle in 1979 was LL 842 OLL 481L ex National Travel London but new to Samuelsons in 1973 It is a Plaxton bodied Leopard in Peterborough in 1979 (c) Philip Slynn.
