Our regular correspondent David Bell took advantage of the fine weather on Tuesday to visit somewhere 'a bit different' to photograph Norfolk Green buses in King's Lynn, Hardings Way - the Boal Quay to South Lynn bus only road. In this post he shares some of the photographs he took at the location which is served by buses on services 46, 55 and 505.
On the subject of Norfolk Green a couple of quick updates - we are pleased to report that the second Alexander Dennis Enviro300 27643 GX10 HBY entered service in King's Lynn on Wednesday, whilst in other news the company is set to double the daytime frequency of it's fast Coasthopper 1 buses between King's Lynn and Hunstanton from Monday 17th November, some buses on the route which will now run up to twice an hour will also service Heacham village - a copy of the new timetable is available on the Norfolk Green website.
The first of our photos from Hardings Way shows recent addition to the NG fleet Alexander ALX400 bodied Dennis Trident 17787 LX03 BWA crossing the Nar Outfall bridge heading to Spalding on the 505 (c) David Bell.
Next up also seen on the 505 towards Spalding is East Lancs Myllenium Lolyne bodied Dennis Trident 18278 PX55 AHF, it is picture entering the bus only road at Boal Quay (c) David Bell.
Seen in the same location is Optare Spectra bodied DAF DB250LF 13984 YG02 FWB, it is one of two Spectras that carry branding for the 505 (c) David Bell.
Next is another Optare Spectra bodied DAF DB250LF, 13982 YJ51 ZVG also seen working on the 505 to Spalding - well it is the most frequent service along the Hardings Way bus road! (c) David Bell.
The penultimate photo in this selection shows Optare Versa 25269 MX09 HJJ working on the 46 to Magdalen, this Versa is powered by a MAN engine where as the other three of this type in the fleet are Mercedes (c) David Bell.
We'll finish this part with a single deck 505, Optare Tempo 25130 YN58 FXH, this is one of three ex Optare demonstrators of this type in the fleet (c) David Bell.
Many thanks to David for the photographs featured in this post - look out for more of David's excellent photos including a two part selection from the recent Lincolnshire Vintage Vehicle Society running day - coming soon!
