Out & about in King's Lynn - photo special!

A visit to King's Lynn bus station yesterday provided an opportunity to catch up with the latest bus related activity in the town. As previously reported the last couple of months have seen many fleet changes take place at Stagecoach owned Norfolk Green - most notably the start of arrival of numerous additional vehicles including three '55 reg' Optare Solo M850SLs (all arrived) six '10 reg' Alexander Dennis Enviro300s (1 of 6 arrived) and seven '52/03 reg' Alexander ALX400 bodied Dennis Tridents (3 of 7 arrived) Another noticeable change has been the withdrawal of the last remaining rare Irisbus Agoralines at the end of October.

The highlight of the day was seeing the first of Norfolk Green's six Alexander Dennis Enviro300s, 27642 GX10 HBU was noted parked in the bus station and later working on the North Wootton Three, these vehicles are a great upgrade for the single deck fleet following the withdrawal of the Agoralines and look extremely smart!

Also noted yesterday were two of the recently added Optare Solo M850SLs, 47244 GX55 DXO was noted working on the Coasthopper 1 whist pictured here working on the Fairstead One is 47245 GX55 DXP, as previously reported the arrival of this trio has allowed for some of the older Solos to be withdrawn and transferred away - 47881/4 are now with Stagecoach in Carlisle.

To cover pending the arrival of the seven extra Alexander ALX400 bodied Dennis Tridents needed due to an increase in school contracts six Volvo Olympians were hired in from other Stagecoach depots, although with the arrival of three of the Tridents and various other vehicles most of the Olympians have returned leaving only 16226/7 in use, the former which carries registration S756 DRP was noted working on the 46 to March yesterday.
