On diversion in Peterborough - photo special

A diversion to buses in the centre of Peterborough due to the temporary closure of the exit from the bus station near the John Lewis loading bay has been taking place recently, our regular correspondent David Bell visited the area earlier this week and photographed some of the buses seen taking an alternative route.

David reports: "Buses such as the 1 (Orton), 3 (Park Farm), 5 (Cardea) and the 6 (Hampton) plus services such as the X4 to Northampton and routes to Ramsey and Whittlesey are all leaving via the Westgate exit but they cant get through to Bourges Boulevard without turning right then left into Bright Street and then left again at the roundabout. To save time a lot of these services are doubling back through the overspill coach/bus park thus avoiding both the roundabout and the new pedestrian traffic signals opposite Waitrose".
