Looking back... St Albans in the 90's - part 2

Continuing our latest Looking back... feature we are travelling south to Hertfordshire to take a look at a selection of buses operating in the city of St Albans in the 1990's, operators featured include mainly Universitybus (which is of course now the much more colourful Uno) and the Blazefield group's Sovereign as well as Buffalo Bus, County Bus & Coach and Seamarks. All of the photographs in this feature have been kindly supplied by David Bell.

M103 UKX - Sovereign Wright Endurance bodied Volvo B10B new in 1995, this bus is now registered J9 SOE with Stephensons of Easingwold (c) David Bell.

M148 VVS - Universitybus Wright Handybus bodied Dennis Dart new in 1995, this 9.8m exmaple was one of two brought new by this operator (c) David Bell.

H748 CBP - Universitybus Mercedes Benz 811d, this minibus was new to Hertfordshire County Council in 1990 and carries bodywork built by Phoenix (c) David Bell.

We finish this part with an unusual pair of photos showing the results of a minor bus crash - David comments: "The Seamarks Optare Delta reversed into a Sovereign minibus - he just kept reversing not realising that the minibus was behind him until there was an almighty crunching sound - you can see the results in the photo of the minibus!"
