Norfolk Green set to become part of Stagecoach East from 1st May

Stagecoach have announced today that Norfolk Green will officially become part of Stagecoach East from 1st May 2015, the news was broken in a press release that also announces the retirement of Stagecoach South and Norfolk Green Managing Director Andrew Dyer in July after over four decades in the bus industry - we're sure you'll join us in wishing him all the best for the future.

Our friends over at Steven Knight Media report that the changes will see Norfolk Green come under the control of Stagecoach East Managing Director Andy Campbell. The distinctive Norfolk Green livery and Stagecoach variation will be discontinued in favour of corporate Stagecoach livery and branding.

SKM reports: In the past year or so since Stagecoach acquired the Norfolk Green business, they have taken time to understand the operation and to consider how best it can be developed as part of the main Stagecoach business. This is the same approach as Stagecoach have taken with previous acquisitions.

Stagecoach told SKM: "We believe we can continue to develop the business by integrating the Kings Lynn depot operations fully into Stagecoach East. This also makes sense geographically. Vehicles from Kings Lynn depot will carry corporate Stagecoach livery although those vehicles inherited from Norfolk Green will retain Norfolk Green branding until either their replacement or scheduled repaint".

Andy Campbell, Managing Director of Stagecoach East said: "We look forward to attracting even more people on to our greener, smarter services by continuing to deliver the high-quality, affordable bus services across the east of England."

It will certainly be sad to see the end of the popular Norfolk Green brand as our local bus operator, though it will be interesting to see how things develop and what changes will be made under Stagecoach Norfolk in the coming months and years, we will of course bring you further details and updates as and when they become available.
