A couple of hours in Grantham - part 2

Philip Slynn continues his latest guest post about his recent day Out & about in the Lincolnshire town of Grantham; "On a very hot day in early July I had a couple of hours spare in Grantham. Services are mainly operated by Centrebus, with a bit of a mixed fleet of vehicles both old and new. Here are a few examples of what was around in those two hours."

Grantham 2/2 (c) Philip Slynn
We start off with one of the newer Centrebus vehicles. This is fleet no 670 a 2013 VDL SB180 with MCV bodywork. It is on service 8 for Loughborough. According to the allocation list I have it is a Corby based vehicle (c) Philip Slynn.

This one is however a Grantham bus as it carries Grantham ‘into town’ branding. It is another type in the Centrebus fleet, this time an Optare Tempo new in 2010 (c) Philip Slynn.

Another bus on layover is this Volvo Olympian in the fleet of Mark Bland of Stamford. It was new to Midland Fox in 1996 (c) Philip Slynn.

This is Stagecoach 27194 an Alexander Dennis E30D which turned up on the Interconnect service from Lincoln. It was new to Stagecoach Red & White in January 2015 and transferred to Stagecoach East Midlands in June when Stagecoach South Wales received a batch of Scania/E300s (c) Philip Slynn.

A visit to the depot saw another ex Kimes vehicle, this time a VDL DE with Wright bodywork. This one has been repainted into Centrebus livery and carries fleet no 766 (c) Philip Slynn.

Finally, one of the older vehicles still in service is this 1999 Dennis Trident, originally Nottingham City 419. Compared to the ex Kimes Tridents, this one looks a lot smarter (c) Philip Slynn.

Many thanks to Philip Slynn for his latest guest post incluing the captions and phots used in both parts.
